As we move into fall and near the end of the year, I feel CandleWick should celebrate our last fleeting moments of nice weather before we all submit to our hibernations surely to come in winter! Therefore, I must announce CandleWick's very first event – the CW Fall and Halloween Extravaganza!!! I do not wish to spend my night on Halloween stuffing my face with Milky Ways in between handing out candy. I want to enjoy it! Therefore this event has been created!
BEWARE! This is not your usual dressage or show jumping show...
In fact, this is more of a party than a show! Multiple images will score higher due to the fact that I get to see just how much fun you had here at CandleWick during the fall season. If you have friends from other stables, let them know and include them in your entries!
PARAMETERS
Runtime: Now - November 29th
Extension. Ends on Black Friday now.

FACILITY AND WEATHER
CandleWick is an expansive property characterized by it's red and gold colored leaves in the fall. There is a brisk wind and clouds drift over the full moon the night of the party, which begins at 7 pm and doesn't end until 2 in the morning. Participants need not stay the entire time, especially if little ones are tagging along with your group! Starting at 7 pm, family oriented events take place. However, as the night grows cold, creepier and creepier experiences begin to occur...
After all the classes have concluded, projected to be at 12:30, the remainder of the party will ensue with minimal fright! Please be sure you are able to manage your horses while on site. The stables has several stalls available for those that need to be taken care of in a calm environment. The clubhouse and stables are the only provided "safe" zones for the evening. When things grow dark and dim, lanterns will light the way hung in trees and placed on the ground around the property. Restrooms are located in both the stables and clubhouse.
Images of the property are below:
EVENTS
Hay Rack Ride
Here are where your driving horses will really come in handy! Limit one to two horses pulling and a single driver. Show your team parading down the long driveway, through the indoor arena, in the middle of the jumping field (fences will be removed for the entire night), or around the large fire pit on the outskirts of the woods! Passengers are optional and may be anyone you like! Maybe other members of your stables? Ex: www.grossbelgian.com/images/4.… Starts at 7:00.
Bonfire and Clubhouse
Depict your riders and horses cozying up next to the large, outdoor bonfire, located behind the cross country course pond near the outskirts of the woods! The clubhouse is open to party members all throughout the night and has coffee and hot chocolate machines as well as mummy, vampire, and zombie cookies! The clubhouse's indoor fire pit will be available to warm your toes if the chilling night gets to you. The outdoor bonfire will continue throughout the night as well. Hot dogs, marshmallows, etc. will be served outdoors.
Bobbing for apples
You are facing your horse on this one! Large buckets are set up for each competing pair! You get one and so does your horse! Within ten minutes who gets the most granny smiths? The winner gets a bag of treats! If the winner be human, a festive caramel apple is to be awarded. If the winner be equine, a large bag of apple flavored nuggets! Contest to be held in the large clearing in the woods (#15 on aerial map). Note: Winner will be decided by me. Starts at 8:00.
Costume Contest
Break out the wigs and glitter glue! It's time to make those crafty homemade costumes! Go big or go home, right? The MOST CREATIVE costume will win this contest! These contestants will be located on top of Flicker Hill (#16 on the aerial map) during the announcement ceremony, but may wear their costumes throughout the evening. Starts at 9:00.
Haunted Walk
Mind your step! There are cross country hurdles and zombie hands poking out of the ground on these trails! Throughout the twists and winding paths there are goblins, ghouls, and witches - oh my! We have moaning mummies, and flapping bats that will chase you throughout this walk. In addition, we have live gargoyles, and phantom ghosts that whisk around and through your frightened mount. Werewolves perch at the top of the mountains and sprint towards you when they see the slightest glimpse of movement. Vampires fly after you and reach for your steed's mighty, juicy neck, and just as you see another horse and rider ahead, calmly standing, it's all over... But what's that under their arm they're holding... a head? WARNING: NOT for green or easily spooked horses. Starts at 10:00.
Zombie Run
The final event! Through the large jumping field (#11 on the aerial map), all jumps will be removed for the evening, is our very own Zombie Run. Our staff members will have a couple eyes removed, their faces slipping to one side of completely skinned or contorted in someway. An axe through a head or two, and tattered clothing to be reminded just how unloved these creatures are! They will be mounted on their zombie horses and will attempt to grab you as you make your way to the safe zone, the stables. No one can save you now and almost everyone's motto is "every man for himself". Whoever said zombies were slow, never met one of these. Nick-named chasers, these creatures will gallop after you for a taste at our guests' brains! Try not to give them what they want... WARNING: NOT for green or easily spooked horses. Starts at 11:30.

RESULTS
So it's no surprise what place you all got. I'm just happy you all entered separate events so you can each earn a first place ribbon for your stable's trophy rooms. You may all use your new maroon saddle pads and stable blankets now if you so desire. You may also name and age your black kittens as you wish! And I will have each of your full-body images of the participants ready as soon as I can! Please don't forget to message Tobi-Terror for your headshots! Also, note me when you plan to use your free breeding and to whom (I'd love to see your breeding images and your foals when they're up)!
Thank you all for participating in my first event, I definitely know what I can do to improve next year, and I hope you still all had fun!

CandleWick mounts are known for their versatility within disciplines, pristine and highly coveted coat colors, as well as their personable dispositions. To own a CandleWick horse is a high honor, and to be breeding the next generation of those traits is an even higher one. That being said, careful selection goes into matching each horse with a possible mate. We hope one of your horses can fit that request!
